Help & FAQs

Getting Started

Where should I start?

Start with My Plan. You don’t need to complete everything at once. Add the information that’s most important to your family now, and continue building your Plan over time.

For a quick introduction to the app, you can also watch the 2-Minute SilverPath Tour.

Do I need to complete my entire Plan?

No. Your Plan is designed to be completed over time. Start with the information that matters most right now and come back whenever you’re ready to add more.

How do I invite someone to SilverPath?

Select Invite Someone from your Dashboard and enter the person’s information. You’ll be able to choose their role and the level of access they should have.

The person will receive an invitation with instructions for joining your SilverPath account.

What are the different roles in SilverPath?

SilverPath uses different roles so you can decide how each person participates.

Primary is the person whose Plan is being created.

Collaborator can help add and manage information in SilverPath.

Informed can stay up to date with only the information shared with them but does not have editing access.

Can more than one person help manage the Plan?

Yes. SilverPath is designed so family members and other trusted people can work together. You control who has what permission to edit or view your Plan.

My Plan

What should I put in My Plan?

Your Plan gives you one place to organize information your family may need. It includes areas for important people, legal and financial planning, insurance, your home, personal preferences, and other important information.

You don’t have to fill in information that doesn’t apply to you.

Who can see the information in My Plan?

Access depends on each person’s role and the Family Access settings you’ve selected.

Family & Access settings let you choose which information is shared with other people in your SilverPath account. You can set these permissions through the Settings (gear icon).

What does Family Access mean in My Plan?

Family Access is a section on the Plan that lists who in your family knows about important information in your Plan and has access to things like your house keys.

Can I change information after I add it?

Yes. Your Plan is meant to change with you. You can return to information you’ve entered and update it whenever needed.

Can I download or print My Plan?

Yes. SilverPath can create a PDF of your Plan that you can download, save, or print.

Only information included in your Plan will appear in the PDF, so empty sections won’t clutter the document.

What is the Emergency Summary?

The Emergency Summary brings together important information that may be useful when you need it quickly.

It also includes a QR code that provides quick access to the Emergency Summary.

Is there anything I shouldn’t put in My Plan?

Yes. Don’t enter passwords, PINs, full bank or credit card account numbers, Social Security numbers, or other highly sensitive credentials in SilverPath.

SilverPath is designed to help your family know what information exists and where to find it, not to store passwords or complete financial account details.

Checklist

What is the Checklist for?

The Checklist helps your family keep track of things that need to be done.

SilverPath includes helpful built-in tasks, and you can also create your own tasks and add notes.

Can I add my own task?

Yes. Select the green circle with the + sign at the top and then add a new task. Enter what needs to be done, choose a category, and add any notes you want to remember.

Can I add notes to a task?

Yes. Notes are available for both SilverPath’s built-in tasks and tasks you create yourself.

Can I assign a task to someone?

Not yet. The ability to assign Checklist tasks to someone else is coming in a future update.

Can I delete a SilverPath built-in task?

SilverPath’s built-in Checklist items cannot be deleted. They’re included as helpful reminders of things your family may want to consider. You can click the checkbox to mark them as complete.

Tasks that you create yourself can be deleted.

What happens when I complete a task?

Mark the task complete and SilverPath will keep track of its completion. If something needs attention again later, you can uncheck it and reopen it.

Appointments

What can I keep in Appointments?

Appointments can include the date and time, provider or appointment name, location, phone number, notes, who’s attending, transportation information, questions to ask, and next steps.

Do I have to enter a time for an appointment?

No. The date is required, but the time can be left blank when you don’t know it or when a specific time isn’t needed.

What are Questions to Ask?

Use Questions to Ask to keep track of things you don’t want to forget during an appointment.

You can add questions ahead of time and have them available when you need them.

What are Next Steps?

Next Steps help you keep track of things that need to happen after an appointment.

They can include an assignee and due date so it’s clear what needs to happen and who’s responsible.

Can other people see appointments?

People with the appropriate access to your SilverPath account can see appointment information based on their role and permissions.

Shared Contacts

What are Shared Contacts?

Shared Contacts gives your family one place to keep contact information for important people and organizations.

Instead of everyone maintaining separate contact lists, the information can be available to the people in SilverPath who need it.

What kinds of contacts should I add?

Add the people and organizations that are useful to your family. These might include doctors and other providers, attorneys, financial professionals, insurance contacts, neighbors, family members, or other important contacts.

Can other family members use Shared Contacts?

Yes. Shared Contacts are designed to make important contact information available to the appropriate people in your SilverPath account.

Janet

What is Janet?

Janet is SilverPath’s built-in AI assistant. You can ask Janet questions when you need help understanding a topic, thinking through what to consider next, finding trusted resources, or using SilverPath.

Can Janet help me use SilverPath?

Yes. You can ask Janet common questions about how SilverPath works or where to find something in the app.

For example, you might ask:

“How do I invite someone to SilverPath?”

or

“Where can I download my Plan?”

Can Janet give medical, legal, or financial advice?

Janet can provide general information and help explain unfamiliar topics, but she does not replace a doctor, attorney, financial professional, or other qualified professional.

For decisions specific to your situation, talk with the appropriate professional.

Can Janet recommend local businesses or professionals?

Janet isn’t a local search service and shouldn’t be used to find or recommend specific local businesses or professionals.

She can help you understand what type of professional you may want to look for and what questions you might want to ask.

Does Janet know everything in my SilverPath account?

No. Don’t assume Janet can see or verify information simply because it is stored somewhere in SilverPath.

If Janet doesn’t have access to information needed to answer your question, she’ll let you know.

Profile & Settings

Where are my Profile and Settings?

Select the gear icon at the top of SilverPath to open your Profile and Settings.

Where can I find Help?

Select the question mark (?) at the top of SilverPath.

From Help, you can watch the 2-Minute Tour, read frequently asked questions, ask Janet, or email Technical Support.

Can I change my personal information?

Open Profile & Settings using the gear icon at the top of the screen. You’ll find the available options for managing your profile and account there.

Account & Access

I forgot my password. What should I do?

Use Forgot Password on the SilverPath sign-in screen and follow the instructions sent to your email address.

I didn’t receive my invitation. What should I do?

First, check your spam or junk folder and make sure the invitation was sent to the correct email address.

If you still can’t find it, ask the person who invited you to resend the invitation.

How do I change who has access to the Plan?

Go to Settings and select Family & Access. From there, you can manage who has access to the Primary person’s Plan and what they are able to do in SilverPath.

I removed someone, and now I can’t add them back. What should I do?

If you’re having trouble restoring access for someone who was previously part of your SilverPath account, contact SilverPath Technical Support at support@silverpathapp.com. This may require us to review the account.

I’m having trouble signing in even after resetting my password. What should I do?

If you’ve tried resetting your password and still can’t access SilverPath, contact SilverPath Technical Support at support@silverpathapp.com.

Privacy & Sharing

Does everyone in my family see everything I enter?

No. What someone can see depends on their role and the access you’ve given them.

For information that supports Family Access controls, you can decide which family members should have access.

Can anyone else read my Journal?

No. Your Journal is private to you. Other people in your SilverPath account cannot see your Journal entries.

Should I share my SilverPath password with family members?

No. Each person should use their own SilverPath account.

Invite them to your SilverPath account instead of sharing your password.

What should I do when someone should no longer have access?

Update or remove that person’s access from your SilverPath account under Settings (gear icon at the top). If you’re unable to make the change or something doesn’t look right afterward, contact Technical Support at support@silverpathapp.com.

Where can I read SilverPath’s Privacy Policy, Terms & Conditions, and Cookie Policy?

You can review SilverPath’s legal policies anytime:

Technical Support

When should I contact Technical Support?

For example, contact Technical Support if:

  • You can’t access your account after trying the normal sign-in or password-reset steps.
  • Someone was removed, and you’re unable to restore their access.
  • Something in SilverPath isn’t working as expected.

Please don’t send passwords or other sensitive information by email. SilverPath Support will let you know if additional information is needed.
